About Event
Come join us for a creative, educational workshop where you can practice the art of mending apparel! Hosted by CDCMo and FABSCRAP, this hands-on workshop will teach you valuable skills to repair and upcycle your wardrobe.
No experience required. All tools will be supplied (in exchange, a $15 donation to FABSCRAP is encouraged). Together, we can create a more responsible, conscious, and circular world.

FABSCRAP’s mission is to redefine how we perceive and handle commercial textile waste. Through their work, they provide a convenient and transparent recycling and reuse service for businesses and individuals; act as an affordable and accessible materials resource, connecting fabric to creators and innovators; and build a diverse and empowered community of changemakers dedicated to sustainability.
FABSCRAP collects pre-consumer textile waste from 850+ brands (and just reached 2 million pounds saved from landfill!). The bags they collect in are heavily used and in need of repair. After an overview of Sashiko & Boro-style mending skills, attendees will practice what they learn practicing mending on FABSCRAP bags.
